A very competitive pool resulted in the following standings; 1st Glantaf 2nd Christ College 3rd Rydal 4th Welshpool.

As we moved on to our first 11 aside game of the day, we welcomed Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn and Christ College Brecon to the pitch for the U16 National Final. After Tywyn gaining an early lead, this gave them good momentum for the rest of the game, despite Christ College having their chances. Full time saw Tywyn run out as 4-0 winners, with some excellent goals and passages of team play, rewarding them as National U16 Schoolboy Champions.

Last but certainly not least, we saw teams from Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr and Rydal Penrhos take to the pitch with all to play for in the U18 Schoolboys final. Both teams having a small handful club players, along with the majority of others not playing much hockey before. Despite this, a very entertaining game was on show, both teams having their fair share of chances of goal, some converted, some not, and reflective in the final score of 3-3. This meant that we had to take the game penalty strokes, to determine the winners, and despite great efforts from the Rydal players, Gwyr’s keeper was on fire saving all three of Rydals strokes in conjunction with Gwyr’s strokes hitting the back of the net. A fantastic game from both teams had to result in one winner and for their first time ever the U18 National Schoolboy champions are Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr.
