NEWS FROM HOCKEY WALES: FEBRUARY 2012

Are you and your club ready for the 2012 London Olympic Games?

It is nearly here... the biggest sporting event of our lifetime that could help the profile of our sport shoot through the roof! But are we all ready? To support clubs and as part of our Hockey Nation legacy programme Hockey Wales are holding four 'Club 2012' events across Wales. These events will give you a wide range of ideas to ensure your club is ready and has the capacity for potential new members post Olympics.  We will give you some crucial ideas as to how to attract new members and more importantly keep them, provide top tips on volunteer recruitment and some case studies from Hockey across Wales as to what clubs are already doing in anticipation of 2012. Marketing, Funding and development specialists will be on hand to give advice on how to use social media in the run up to the Olympics, best ways to access grants to support legacy programmes, and answer any queries you currently have about Community Chest and other pots of money available to you. Clubs who attend an event will also have an opportunity to apply for their very own Club 2012 Mentor to support them specifically on growing the club in anticipation of 2012.
