Summer 7s is a terrific way to continue playing hockey throughout the traditional closed season. Making the most of the tropical Welsh summers, this small-sided, participation focussed, format of the game allows clubs to take part in some friendly competition, introduce fresh new players to the sport and play against teams they may never come up against in the normal season.

Piloted in North Wales during Summer 2017, this initiative went exceedingly well with 10 clubs taking part on 4 individual tournament days. Over 120 individual participants took part even more goals scored and many more memories shared. The real selling point was the recreational nature of the days which were a far cry from the heat of battle on a Saturday afternoon in February!
