Wales’ U18 Girls suffered a tough defeat today against neighbouring Scotland, in their first game of the 2018 European Championships in Rakovnik.

The first half saw Scotland hold most of the possession, with Wales changing tactics from a half-court press to a three-quarter during the second quarter of the game, to apply pressure on the Scottish defence.

2-0 up by half time, Scotland had plenty of clear-cut chances building up to their lead. Wales fought back hard but were unable to convert their own attacks on goal, pushing Scotland’s defensive skills. The game ended 4-0 to Scotland.

Wales will take key learning from their game today into their match against Lithuania tomorrow at 14:45 (BST).
