Performance

In less than 10 days our Senior Women will head to Valencia ahead of their FIH Series Finals.

Along with hosts Spain, Wales will be joined by: South Africa (WR:15), Italy (WR:17), Belarus (WR:20), Canada (WR:21), Thailand (WR:28) and Namibia (WR:42) – the lowest ranked women’s team competing in any of the FIH Series Finals events.

Joining Wales in their Pool are South Africa, Thailand and Italy, with Wales facing South Africa in their opening game on Wednesday 19th June.

Ahead of the Series Finals, Kevin Johnson, Head Coach said:

I’m looking forward to seeing what this squad can do in Valencia. This is a great opportunity to play against some very well established and high quality International teams and we go there with confidence and belief that when we are at our best we can offer a serious challenge to higher ranked nations. We always enjoy these times away together as a staff and a squad and this amount of concentrated contact time will always benefit our progression either in the short or long term. There is a really nice blend of youth and experience in this particular squad selection with the average age of the group being 25.
