    THAT’S A WRAP FOR YOUTH FINALS 2019

Saturday 27th April saw the commencement of our National Youth Finals weekend in Newtown where we were accompanied by Storm Hannah who tried all in her power to put a halt to our day with gusty winds and rain for our U15 and U18 age group finals. Despite the torrential weather conditions, Whitchurch and Gwent U15 girls kicked off our weekend battling it out for the National U15 Title. All the action came in the second quarter, with Whitchurch taking the lead in the 21st minut

SWANSEA CITY HOPE TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER 3-0 DEFEAT!

After a hard battle away against the Trojans last week, the squad made another long trip to league leaders Stourport, optimistic that they could give a good account of themselves and get a result, which would see them earn points, following last seasons success at the same venue. Swansea started the game well putting pressure on the Stourport defence, however Stourport were able to convert a penalty corner through Lorna Mackenzie after a counter attack on 7 minutes. The Spart

WALES SECURE WIN IN OPENING HOCKEY SERIES MATCH AGAINST TURKEY!

Yesterday in their opening game of the Hockey Open Series, Wales’ women’s side went head to head with Turkey. The game ended 1-0 to Wales after a relatively equal matched game. Wales held the ball well despite the constant pressure from Turkey, seeing plenty of chances in the first two quarters of the game but all of which just missed the mark, leaving it 0-0 at half time. Wales sought to keep constant pressure against their Turkish counterparts throughout the game, attemptin

The first quarter saw end-to-end action, with both teams having chances to opening the scoring, with the closest opportunity coming from Wales who saw a chance rebound off the post in the dy
