BINGHAM AND HULME TO REPRESENT GB AT FOUR NATIONS!
The GB Women’s Elite Development Programme (EDP) squad for the Four Nations tournament to be held in China between the 2nd – 10th November, has been officially announced.
The 18-strong team facing China, Australia, Germany and a Jiangsu Province outfit, includes two of Wales’ very own additions in Beth Bingham and Caro Hulme.
Having competed in the Six Nations earlier this year, a thrilled Bingham told us:
“I’m delighted to be selected alongside such a strong group of players. It’s an exciting time for the EDP squad as it’s not very often that you get to go to China to play. I’m really looking forward to playing quality sides like Australia, China and Germany and I’m sure that we will learn a lot from the tournament.”
Another familiar face we’ll see joining Bingham and Hulme on tour, is Wales’ Women’s Head Coach, Kevin Johnson. Johnson said:
“Opportunities like these for our players allow them to engage with different challenges and environments, which all adds vital experience in their ambitions to play senior international tournament Hockey for Great Britain in the future. We have had a promising training block since we came back together as a group in September and at the start of this week, had a couple of very useful training games against the Scottish senior women so we feel ready and excited for what lies ahead.”
Together Johnson and Hannah MacLeod will be in charge of the side; both fully appreciating the importance of events like this and how they’ll help these players develop into potential medal winning Olympians of the future.
