Ahead of this weekends fixtures, Cardiff & Met have already guaranteed themselves a place in the new National League Division One next season following a hard fought 4-2 win against the University of Bristol last Sunday.

Walid Abdo, Cardiff & Met Head Coach has shared:

The boys and I are pleased to have qualified in the top. Its going to be exciting going into the new league facing some new teams and different challenges”

After conceding the opening goal against the University of Bristol, just 6 minutes in, Rhys Gowman equalised two minutes later and a second from a Gowman pc after 27’ settled any nerves. Ellis Robson extended the lead halfway through the 2nd half before the students pulled a goal back with 5’ left in the match.

A Ieuan Davies PC sealed the win in the final 2’ leaving Cardiff & Met in 4th place in the league, with the top six being promoted. With games left against Olton & West Warwicks (at Cardiff on 24 March at 12:30) and away at Isca the following weekend, Cardiff & Met could climb to 2nd in the table with two victories and, if other results go their way.
