Club Coach Opportunity

Wrexham Glyndwr HC have developed a unique coaching offer for an experienced, passionate, and driven coach who is willing to be part of a new project.

The coach will be required to lead club training at Wrexham Glyndwr Hockey Club on a Tuesday evening throughout the season. The Ladies section currently play in North Division 2 (South West) and the Men’s section compete in NWHL Div 3 South. The primary aim for next season is to build upon 2016/17’s consolidation in these leagues and to continue to develop the younger players at the club whilst facilitating a coaching environment that is in line with the Golden Thread.

Alongside working with the hockey club, the coach will also deliver a weekly Monday evening training session to Wrexham Glyndwr University. Operating out of the same site as the hockey club, the University are in a developmental stage of their hockey provision and require external expertise to build upon the interest they have raised in the sport over the past 12 months. The partnership between the Hockey club and the University is unique, just as this coaching offer, which is why it requires an open-minded coach that is willing to be a part of something very exciting at this early stage and mould the development of both sections into a contemporary way of receiving their hockey.

Requirement: Any applicant will be expected to hold a valid Level 2 Coaching qualification, have at least 3 years club coaching experience and hold valid First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.

Location: All coaching will take place at the Water Based Hockey Pitch, Wrexham Glyndwr University, Mold Road, Wrexham, LL11 2AW
