We are delighted to announce that, following a short period of furlough, our Hockey Wales team is back to full capacity. Amanda, Alice, Aoife, Elliot, Gabby, Gareth and Lee will return to their roles from today, Monday 15th June.
Whilst we continue to prioritise the health and safety of our workforce, staff will continue to work from home, but returning them to their roles is a positive step for the organisation, as we continue to work hard on returning our sport to a ‘new normal’.
There are further changes in the organisation as we congratulate our CEO, Ria Burrage-Male, on her expectant new arrival. Without the regular opportunities we normally have to interact with our Hockey Family at our sporting events, you’d be forgiven if you missed this exciting news under the circumstances!
Ria is due to commence her maternity leave from 1st July, where Hannah Bevan, Head of Development, along with the support of the Executive Team; Kevin Johnson – Head of Pathway and Nia Butler – Communications and Marketing Lead, will take the reins of the organisation until early 2021.
“I feel extremely happy that we have been able to get our staff back from furlough and in a position to support the organisation and our Hockey Family in adapting to a ‘new normal’. Their return will assist us in progressing the hard work and planning we continue to do, to get hockey back at all levels across Wales. Hannah is well equipped to lead and manage the challenges that we will face in these unprecedented times. I know that I am leaving the organisation in good hands with Hannah and our Exec Team and the rest of the team at Hockey Wales, they will be well supported by the Board, as well as the wider hockey community.”
The Board and the team at Hockey Wales would all like to take this opportunity to wish Ria all the very best at this wonderful time.
