GB COACHING WORKSHOPS PICK UP MOMENTUM ACROSS WALES!
February sees three more GB Coaching workshops rolled out across Wales, giving Welsh coaches further opportunities to up-skill and develop their coaching.
Two ‘Integrating Goalkeeper’ workshops will be run in Mold and Cwmbran, with a ‘What to coach: Attacking’ workshop being held in Carmarthen. These workshops are part of the suite of workshops available from the GB Coaching offer, all of which will be rolled out across Wales in the next 12 months.
The GB Coaching offer, launched last month, is a collaboration between the home nations, to bring coaching together under the banner of ‘GB Coaching’. Working together means coaches will be better supported than ever, whatever area they are delivering in.
Coach Developer for Hockey Wales, Lee Ible, who is part of the GB Coaching team leading on this area, feels excited by what’s on offer and what is to come.
The document brings together all the good work we have been doing over the last 5 years, in an easy to use and informative interactive format. It’s a one stop shop for all coaches to visit and find out what is available to them and help them understand the best workshops and course for them, relevant to the players and groups they are coaching. So whether you’re a school coach, u8 club coach or someone leading a 1st team club session this document will help you find the next step on your learning journey as a coach. The great thing about working together as GB and pooling our resources from across Wales, England and Scotland is the expertise we can access and share. Welsh coaches now have the opportunity to access world class and world leading coach development opportunities. Another benefit of the collaboration is that Welsh coaches can access workshops and courses anywhere across Great Britain, knowing the content and message is the same. So if a course isn’t running in the immediate future in Wales, but they see one over the border in England, they can attend that knowing what they are getting is the same as if they were in Wales and vice versa. It will be good to get coaches from across the border in England attending events held in Wales, sharing knowledge amongst coaches from different backgrounds and environments is a great way to develop as a coach.
Places for the upcoming workshops are still available, if you would like to attend, then sign up today.
