Hockey Wales Awards Nominations are open. Hockey Wales are delighted to announce that the campaign for the Hockey Family Celebration Awards have now begun, and nominations are now OPEN.

Hockey Wales continue to recognise the importance of celebrating success both on and off the pitch, and these awards are the opportunity to give everyone the recognition they deserve.

Nominations will close on Friday 6th March.

Once all nominations are received, a judging panel will select the category winners to be announced on Volunteer Recognition Day, Monday 20th April 2020.

All winners will be invited to National Cup Finals Weekend at the National Hockey Centre, Cardiff (2nd & 3rd May 2020) to receive their Award.

The categories are as follows:


Young Coach of the Year

Club Coach of the Year

Performance Coach of the Year*


Young Umpire/Official of the Year

Community Umpire/Official of the Year

Performance Umpire/Official of the Year**


Young Male Performance Player of the Year***

Young Female Performance Player of the Year***

Volunteer of the Year

Young Ambassador of the Year

Teacher/Lecturer of the Year


Contribution to Masters Hockey

Team of the Year

Youth Club/Section of the Year

Club of the Year

Special Recognition

Anne Ellis Award for Outstanding Contribution to Hockey*
