We’re thrilled to announce the exciting and imminent arrival of MINIS HOCKEY! Thanks to high demand expressed by both parents and children across Mid Wales over the past few months, we’re pleased to confirm that sessions catering for primary school children between the ages of 7-11 years old will commence from early March.

The sessions will help support local hockey clubs’ such as Knighton, Presteigne, Radnor and Kington in the development of their respective junior sections (12+), whilst providing important experience for the ‘minis’ before they progress into a club environment. Acting as an exit route for primary school children participating in the new Hooked on Hoci school’s programme, the launch of ‘Minis Hockey’ will also help the hockey clubs involved to understand the requirements of running sessions for these younger age groups, allowing for some key learnings to be established.

Sessions will be focused on fun and engaging activities, in which children have the opportunity to play hockey from a young age. All sessions will be coached by qualified Hockey Wales coaches and supported by Young Ambassadors who help activities happen across Powys.

Please note sessions are available to any children in Mid Powys from beginners to those who have played some hockey before.

Dates sessions will be running (Monday Nights):
