This November will see two GB coaching workshops rolled out across Wales for the first time ever!

On the back of the very successful and popular Engaging Games for Children workshops, that ran in late August, attracting over 50 Welsh coaches, Hockey Wales are pleased to be able to offer coaches the opportunity to attend an ‘Integrating Goalkeepers’ workshop and a ‘What to Coach’ workshop that will focus on Attacking play.

Forming part of the GB Coaching Programme, these courses will provide coaches across Wales the opportunity to gain knowledge and ideas to help them deliver more inspiring sessions for their players.

Focusing on how to include and develop goalkeepers within a team practice, the ‘Integrating Goalkeepers’ workshop is sure to be popular, as coaches often ask how their sessions can develop goalkeepers at the same time as the outfielders. The new Attacking workshop has been developed with some of the leading coaches in Great Britain, bringing to life the attacking principles of the game, helping coaches create practices that develop players attacking skills.

Coaches who have prior knowledge of “how” to coach and the Golden Thread through attendance at one of the below and would like more support and ideas on how to embed this into different principles of the game:
