THE STAGE IS SET FOR THE HOCKEY WALES U18 CUPS
This weekend saw the start of the busy youth cup competitions schedule. The U18’s boys and girls teams met in various venues across North and South Wales to compete for a place in the semi-finals which will take place in March.
This initial round saw 17 teams taking part with Gwent, Swansea and Whitchurch qualifying in the boys, who will be joined by either Eirias or Northop Hall in the semi-finals. The girl’s competition saw success from and Eirias, Gwent, Northop Hall and Penarth.
The day proved to be a real success for all those involved; Louise Riley, Hockey Wales Youth Competitions Coordinator said,
“All the clubs that participated in this weekend’s Under 18’s pool competitions really did themselves proud. Everyone competed well, demonstrating an excellent standard of play and sportsmanship.
We’d like to thank all the clubs, their volunteers, players, parents and supporters for their time and an excellent day of hockey, and we now look forward to seeing the qualifying teams at the semi-finals in March.”
The round-robin semi-finals will be held on Sunday 15th March, in Mid Wales, venues to be confirmed
