Reflecting on the weekend, Dave Phenis, CEO said:
What a thoroughly enjoyable weekend of hockey with our clubs from all over Wales competing in the cup finals, a truly fitting finale to our domestic season. Congratulations to all players who entertained such a large crowd of supporters by excellent standard of play in glorious sunshine. Congratulations to our winners and also good luck to Whitchurch and Cardiff University who now go onto represent Wales in Europe in 2019. Thank you to all our umpires, officials, young ambassadors, volunteers and sponsors who helped make it such a special occasion for all involved. We now look forward to hosting the European Under 18 boys Championships at the National Centre in July and hope we have the same level of support to cheer on our boys.
The weekend wouldn’t have been complete without the refreshing beverages of Customized – Your Mobile Bar Service and the delicious Venezuelan cuisine served up by The Queen Pepiada.
A huge thank you to Customized for kindly sponsoring the ‘Player of the Match’ awards presented to Cardiff Uni’s Natalie Mansfield and Cardiff Met’s Jacob Draper on the back of their Championship games and a further thank you to sports equipment supplier C.G Sports for providing excellent products and service on the day as well as a generous raffle prize.
As always the day wouldn’t have been the success it was without the unwavering support and dedication of the officials and #thirdteam and that success wouldn’t have been captured without our fantastic photographer Irfon Bennett – a huge thank you to all!
