The Under 15’s take to the stage.
This weekend saw the U15’s take centre stage in the Club Cup qualifiers. The girls’ and boys’ teams met in various venues across North and South Wales to compete for a place in the semi-finals which will take place in March.
12 teams took part in the girl’s competition and, after a delayed start, Bangor, Gwent, Llanfair and Whitchurch qualified for the next round. Eirias qualified from the North Boys pool, but the South Boys pool was cancelled due to a frozen pitch.
Louise Riley, Hockey Wales Youth Competitions Coordinator, was really impressed with everyone on the day and was grateful to those who supported.
“This weekend’s U15’s pool competitions saw an excellent level of hockey and sportsmanship from all involved. The games proved very exciting and the clubs should be incredibly proud of their youth players.
“A big thank you to those who attended, particularly the volunteers, players, parents and supporters, we really appreciate you taking the time to support this event. We look forward to seeing the qualifying clubs in what promises to be an exciting semi-final.”
The round-robin semi-finals will be held on Sunday 29th March, in Mid Wales, venues to be confirmed
