Hockey Wales Director of Relationships, Gareth Evans has today announced his departure from the organisation.
Welsh Boxing have appointed Gareth as their new Head of Community Boxing beginning in May.
Gareth has been a valued member of the hockey Wales team since joining us from triathlon Wales and has worked tirelessly with the community team to work on structures that will contribute to the growth within the community game over future years.
Commenting on his departure Gareth Evans said:
“I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with Hockey Wales and working with the wider team. With a new CEO comes a real opportunity for the organisation to reassess its priorities moving forward and I've no doubt hockey will be in a good place for years to come. I look forward to seeing the progress it makes as a hockey fan and a parent within the game.”
Hockey Wales, CEO Paul Whapham said:
“Naturally, we are disappointed to lose a member of staff with Gareth’s experience and knowledge from the organisation. However, this is a great opportunity for him, and we wish him and Welsh Boxing the very best with their future plans.
In the coming weeks we will look to replace Gareth ahead of the new Hockey season.”
