Governance refers to the framework of rules, processes, and practices by which an organisation is directed and controlled. For Hoci Cymru, governance ensures that the organisation operates efficiently, ethically, and transparently to achieve its goals. This includes managing resources, making strategic decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and maintaining accountability to stakeholders, such as players, clubs, and the wider hockey community.

 

At the club level, governance is equally important. Effective club governance ensures that clubs are run fairly and responsibly, creating a positive environment for players, umpires, coaches, and volunteers. It helps maintain compliance with safeguarding policies, financial management, and strategic planning, enabling clubs to thrive and contribute to the growth of hockey in Wales.
