As recently announced, Hoci Cymru is making a few changes to membership for the upcoming season.
While we will continue to support grassroots clubs across Wales and the development of our sport, members will experience several changes aimed at providing better structure to support everyone in the hockey community to build a better future for hockey in Wales.
Among the changes are:
Full player insurance
Stronger competition access
Digital member cards
Monthly payment options through Klarna
Hardship Fund – to support those most in need pay for their membership.
Friends of Hockey Wales Hardship Fund - 3 Separate grants to help players, umpires and parents purchase playing kit, support match fees and / or international travel
Retail discounts with some of the largest brands, through a new partnership with Endurance Zone
Exclusive discounts from Hoci Cymru partners
Insurance option to cover the cost of your membership
The pricing structure for Hoci Cymru membership is also changing, a decision that was taken to make the sport sustainable, reinvest into grassroots hockey and make improvements across the board, because of the significant reduction in Sport Wales funding.
To support our community through this change, Hoci Cymru will set up a hardship fund for those on low income or for large families. Meanwhile, there will be the option of a payment plan, allowing members to pay in instalments via Klarna.
The increases will see Junior membership go up by:
£7 for Under 13
£17 for 14+
£20 for Adults
£5 for Umpires
£5 for Coaches
This new structure allows us to maintain into grassroots, coaching development, and competitions access across Wales.
Hoci Cymru is here to answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to get in touch and query these changes.
