Wales and ex-Great Britain international defender Dan Kyriakides has been presented with his GB international cap by former GB Hockey President, Sheila Morrow.

Dan has been a huge figure in Welsh hockey throughout his career, representing his country 135 times after making his senior debut in 2014.

Three years later, Dan went on to earn his first cap for Great Britain, becoming the first Welsh player to join the Great Britain men’s squad in 17 years. He would end his GB career on 11 caps, having earned a Gold Medal at the 2017 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.

As part of our Hockey Heritage campaign, Dan was awarded with his GB cap by ex-GB Hockey President Shelia Morrow at an event held at his Swansea family home.

Alongside his accomplishments in the GB set-up, Dan has reached great heights in his Wales career. Since making his senior international debut in 2014, Dan has been involved in three Commonwealth Games as well as multiple European campaigns for Wales, including three European A Championships.

The experienced defender started playing his hockey at hometown club Swansea , before spending five successful years at Cardiff & Met where he won several league cups and European medals, and competed in the EHL.

Making his Premier League debut, Dan played at Reading for a season before taking his hockey abroad. After completing two seasons at Crefelder in the German Bundesliga and representing Terengganu in the Malaysia Hockey League, he returned to the UK to join Hampstead & Westminster. For the past three seasons, he has been back in Germany, this time playing his hockey for Der Club an der Alster.
