Wales Hockey Teams At The 2022 Commonwealth Games

With Wales men and women set to take part in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, here’s you full guide to the hockey which will take place at the University of Birmingham!


Women’s Match Schedule

Wales women are in Pool A with India, Canada, Ghana, and England.


Pool fixtures

Friday 29th July – Wales v Canada – 16:00

Saturday 30th July – Wales v India – 19:00

Monday 1st August – Wales v Ghana – 09:00

Thursday 4th August – Wales v England – 11:00


Classification matches, semi-finals, and finals

Friday 5th August – semi-finals, 9th/10th & 7th/8th place play-offs

Sunday 7th August – final, bronze medal match and 5th/6th place play-off


Men’s Match Schedule

Wales men have been drawn in Pool B with India, Canada, Ghana, and England.

Saturday July 30th – Wales v Canada – 11:00

Sunday July 31st – Wales v England – 14:00

Wednesday 3rd August – Wales v Ghana – 16:00

Thursday 4th August – Wales v India – 14:00


Classification matches, semi-finals, and finals

Saturday 6th August - semi-finals, 9th/10th & 7th/8th place play-offs

Sunday 7th August - 5th/6th place play-off

Monday 8th August – final and bronze medal match


Where to watch

BBC Wales and BBC Sport will be showing all the action from the Commonwealth Games.


The hockey matches will be broadcast and streamed across BBC Wales One, BBC Wales Two, BBC Three, BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website, and the BBC red button.
